The back gauge table is often the single most important item when investing in a power folder. The back gauge will save any company time and money, if the system is flexible and fully incorporated with the control system.
A 3 meter wide back gauge table should have at least 10 fingers and all should be controlled to simplify the handling of large sheets by having the possibility to drop down in every program row; otherwise the power folder cannot be operated by a single person.

CIDAN’s back gauge system has unmatched precision and flexibility for today’s and tomorrow’s needs, thanks to the modular system and the possibilty to expand the new AGS back gauge table. This means that one person easily can handle large sheets for panels, cabinets, signs, etc. from the front or back of the machine. As option, the back gauges can have the shape to make it possible for the operator to stand inside the table and handle the sheets alone on the table without any sheet support aid. The control is then swung to the back side of the machine and a second foot pedal is used for operation.

Our latest back gauge table is our most innovative and flexible so far. With AGS back gauge you can design your back gauge table exactly according to your production needs. The base unit  is U-shaped and spans over the length of the machine and has a depth of 1550/1050/1550 mm (61″/41.3″/61″). Then you can install additional modules to the right or left up to a total depth of 4300 mm (169″) and in the middle section add as well. You choose if you want your back gauge straight or shaped as a J, L or U. Should your needs change, you can with reasonable effort expand your back gauge by adding modules afterwards. AGS back gauge is equipped with ball screw, linear guides and servo motor for highest precision and repeatability.

  • All back gauge positions can be reached in less than two seconds
  • Standard working depth 2-1550 mm (.080″-61″) and as an option there are back gauges with 3300 mm (129″) and 4300 mm (169″) working depth
  • 12-16 gauging rails as standard, depending on length of machine (additional gauging rails as option)
  • Gauging rails can easily be moved sideways for maximum adaptation and were the back gauge panels regardless of position will fill out the back gauge table (valid for AGS with moveable gauging rails)
  • 25 mm (0.98″) high rear stop units
  • Back gauge panels with integrated steel ball transfers (nylon ball transfers for sensitive material as option)
  • Squaring arm on left and/or right side (optional)
  • Modular design with ability to retrofit extension modules
  • Compressed air is needed to activate stop units
  • Can be retrofitted with Adjustable Height (AH)

AGS - Adjustable Height (AH)

The versatile AGS back gauge table is also available with motorized adjustable height. AGS AH is based on the same principles as AGS Fixed Height, which means you have a U-shaped base unit which spans over the length of the machine and has a depth of 1550/1050/1550 mm (61/41.3/61″). Then it is possible to add different modules to the right, left or in the middle, up to a total depth of 4300 mm (169″).

  • About 3 times faster than SBG
  • The CNC control ProLink S guarantees that the AGS AH automatically drops down when you reach the step in the program
  • Gauging rails can easily be moved sideways for maximum adaption and were the back gauge panels regardless of position will fill out the back gauge table
  • AH extensions are possible to retrofit
  • AGS adjustable height (AH) is available for K25 Combi Multifold* and FORMA Combi Multifold

SBG

This back gauge is equipped with ball screw, linear guides and servo motor for the highest precision possible. All positions are accurate time after time. The back gauge speed enables the productivity to increase and at the same time decrease the costs of the folding operation. Front stop units are made of spring steel as standard feature; solid front stop units are optional. The stop unit can be dropped down automatically in every program row, which prevents any collision with the stop units when the sheet needs to be rotated. Back gauge panels can be moved backwards when folded details requires free space behind the lower beam tool.

  • All back gauge positions can be reached in less than two seconds
  • Standard working depth 2-1550 mm (.080”-61”) and as an option there are back gauges with 2 m (100”), 3 m (122”) and 4 m (161”) working depth
  • 14 x 3 stop units in back gauge (intended for a 3100 mm (122”) working length and 1550 mm (61”) working depth)
  • Back gauge panels with integrated ball transfers
  • Squaring arm on left and/or right side (optional)
  • Motorized height adjustment of the back gauge in Multifold executions (optional)
  • Compressed air is needed to activate stop units

U-/J-SHAPED BACK GAUGE TABLE

For large details like panels, doors and cabinets, we recommend J-shaped or U-shaped SBG back gauge tables. The operator can choose to stand in front or back of the machine, depending on size of the parts being folded. U-shaped back gauge is used in combination with different tooling set-ups and when folding parts that are large in both width and length. Even 3 and 4 meter large parts can easily be folded by one single operator. When operating from the back, the operator swings back the control system screen and runs the machine with a foot pedal at the back. Our back gauge system can be supplied with height adjustable tables. This is perfect for gauging reverse Z-flanges on the back gauge. Height adjustable back gauge requires Multifold execution. Our back gauge system is driven by a servo motor with ball screw and linear guides which guarantees very high precision and accuracy. Each back gauge position can be reached within 2 seconds.

EGS

The back gauge is designed to position the work piece so exact dimensions are obtained on the folder sheet. The back gauge supports the sheet when positioning and folding so that the operator does not have to hold it. The front stop units are in spring steel as a standard feature. A servo motor and a belt drive in both sides drive the gauge. It takes less than two seconds to get an exact positioning of the gauge between 2 and 1000 mm (.080”-39.4”). The stop units can be dropped down automatically in every program row, this is to avoid any possibility of collision with the stop units when the sheet needs to be rotated.

  • Only for folding machine model K15 and K25.
  • Working depth 2-1000 mm (.080”-39.4”)
  • 12 x 2 stop units (for a 3100 mm (122”) working length)
